I searched for a file cabinet that was durable and reasonably priced. I was surprised to discover that HON file cabinets are made in the USA (I didn't think anything was anymore).

This file cabinet (4-drawer) is solid, with great drawers. The sliding size adjuster in the drawer is not flimsy or faulty, but solid, so your files won't end up in the bottom of the drawer. Also, the lock works well.

Doesn't begin to compare to quality of file cabinets built 40 yrs ago. Not sturdy! Drawers catch on initial opening! Even with 10 nylon rollers drawers require extra effort to open! Tried WD-40 as suggested and it didn't help! Card holders on front of drawers open at top and bottom so cards don't stay where they should!

Good stuff. This baby replaces the third file cabinet I've had in 20 years. Yes, I did spend a little more money this time, but I think it will last into the next generation. Heavy duty construction, lock works well and drawers do not shift around like cheaper models. Hon rules.
