I thought we would be required to purchase a frame for the hanging folders. However, the drawers are constructed to accept either hanging folders or normal file folders.

I returned the HON unit and bought the Staples brand. I already had Staples brand at home and THOUGHT the HON would be a better quality for business use. The HON cabinet IS heavier, but the drawer slides are VERY cheap and poorly designed. In my opinion it felt like HON put 50-cent rollers on a $169 file cabinet, while Staples put $50 rollers on a [$]cabinet. In addition, once the cabinets are loaded they feel equally heavy and stable, but the Staples drawers open smoooothly!
Comments about HON® S380 Series Vertical File Cabinet, 26 1/2" 4-Drawer, Letter Size, Black:
After reading the reviews, I decided to go to the store to pick it up myself and make sure there were no dents. I figured that way I wouldn't risk the likelihood of carrier damage. The sales guy convinced me that since the box wasn't damaged it should be in good condition. Upon opening, sure there were no dents but immediately I could tell that all the drawers were at least 2mm lower on the left that the right and the bottom drawer scraped just a bit. I decide to go ahead and keep it. 1/3 filled, the entire left side was 1/2" lower than the right causing the drawers to sag so much that the drawers had to be lifted up to shut and lifted up to open. I could also read all my file tabs with the drawers shut because the gap was so big. I took it back for a full refund. BEWARE there is another 300 series that staples also sells with a different item number only available online or by phone. It has a spring loaded follower, not wire, which tis the one I thought I was originally purchasing.

Q:
Does the HON380 have the sliding file folder holder in each drawer that keeps the files upright instead of falling backwards when the drawer is not full?

Yes it is a locking filing cabinet. It does include the lock and keys.

A:
It does lock and it comes with keys. This is a good product for a home office. But, take it out of the box before you leave the store as mine came damaged.

Q:
Does the key lock all four drawers or one at the top.
Yes this cabinet has high side drawers. This allows hanging letter sized file folders and jackets to be directly hung on the sides of the drawers. The cabinet is sold with factory installed locks and is not optional, however the lock can be removed if not needed.

Q:
I currently own this file cabinet and am about to move my office. I was curious if the drawers come out for an easy move or if we should plan on boxing up the files? Thanks!

We would recommend boxing up the files due to the heavy weight of paper. We do offer a mover, it is used to move a file cabinet on the same level without removing files. Not for use on stairs. See below URL
