Definitely Worth the Extra $$

I bought this file cabinet after reading multiple negative reviews on cheaper four drawer cabinets. I read many positive reviews on this one and decided to order it online (Staples did not stock it in their stores). I don't regret the extra $$ one bit. After recieving the cabinet and comparing it to the cheaper model in the store, it is obvious that I made the right decision. This cabinet is much more sturdy, all drawers have a self locking mechanism, all drawers have a sturdy metal label holder, and, when the cabinet is manually locked, all four drawers lock instead of just two. These are all major differences from the cheaper model. This cabinet also is uniquely sized; it is larger than the cheaper cabinet but smaller than the other more expensive cabinets. This makes it an ideal pick for the money if you do not have a large amount of space to place it in. Did I mention it is made in the USA!! Pretty rare these days. Please take my advice and spend the extra money for this cabinet. You won't regret it.

These files are missing the ESSENTIAL "Follower Block" on each drawer! They must be seconds or something. Hon doesn't sell them this way. That's why the price is good. If you have to buy the "Follower Block" for each of the four drawers you'll pay Hon [$] each or an extra [$]! I've NEVER seen files like these that don't have the blocker. What they give you is two PLASTIC bars that you have to hand remove (VERY difficult) EVERY time you want to take out files or move the back support that holds up ALL the files. The only way these files MIGHT work is if you ONLY use hanging folders in addition to regular file folders. If you check out the [...]website for the 410 series you find the 414P shows pictures of the blocker installed but the STAPLES versions don't have what Hon shows. Buyer BEWARE! Look at the [...].com picture to see the Metal Follower Block that should come with the file drawer. It's the back "wall" of every drawer and it allows you to quickly with one hand modify how deep you want your file drawer to be for the moment. It's ESSENTIAL!

          Very disappointed with this file cabinet. It did not include follower blocks (separate purchase for [$]), so files do not stand up in the drawers. As a result, you are forced to use hanging files or buy the follower blocks. Very misleading!!!

            Great-looking cabinet. Very sturdy design. The top drawer does not open as smoothly as the others, but it could be due to the way the cabinet was carried up a flight of stairs. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this cabinet, and I've recommended it to family members.
