Q: I am interested in purchasing the 3 pack, though I do not need the magenta at this time. Do the ink cartridges have an expiration date? Does it matter if the ink cartridge sits for 6 months before using? Asked on 11/30/2009 by Marty from RICHMOND, VA Know the answer? Answer this question 6 answers A: With a toner cartridge it is ok for it to sit for 6 months. Answered on 1/4/2010 by Customer Care from Staples A: Six months is definitely not a problem, as long as you store the cartridges in a sensible place - no sunny window sills, or on top of the radiator, or in the freezer. I've bought in bulk in the past, and have had cartridges sit on a shelf for a year. Answered on 12/30/2009 by Rich K from UC, NJ A: Hi Marty: The ink cartridge will not expire in that short a time period. Normally they can be stored for a couple of years before you need to check them out, as long as the cover strip is over the head and the packing is kept intact. (Each cartridge in the 3-pack is individually packaged). As to an expiration date -- I have never seen one of the package. Chuck Answered on 1/19/2010 by Chuck the Writer from Middleton, Idaho A: It should not be a problem if you store the cartridge in a place that is neither overly cold nor hot and has reasonable humidity. I store them for longer than you intend to and I have never had a problem. Answered on 5/25/2010 by Ron the Realtor from Port St. Lucie, FL A: Marty, I'm not certian, but I have had the same issue and if you think the old cartridge will expire in about 60 days, I'd go for it. I have had product sitting on the shelf at least that long before installing. Otherwise, just use more magenta. Answered on 6/24/2010 by d from rochester, ny A: I purchase this same way and sometimes have a cartridge sit around for a few months. They are vacuum sealed and I do not believe they have an expiration date. No problems keping extra supply on hand. Answered on 12/1/2010 by Realtor Marketer from Columbus, OH
Q: We never print in color but the ink seem to get drained really fast. Does the colored ink get used for black and white prints? Q: Are the individual color toner cartridges in this 3-pack exactly the same as the color cartridges that you buy as individuals? The individual cartridge descriptions say "yields up to 2,500 pages." The 3-pack description says, "Each cartridge yields up to 2,000 pages." If the 3-pack cartridges have 20% less toner, then they are not a cost savings over purchasing the individual cartridges. Asked on 10/27/2009 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Only the black cartridge claims to have 2500 copies. The colors each say 2000, so this product should be the same.
