I use in a 3700dn model that doesn't have a draft mode so I use the "density settings" under "Configure Device"/"Print Quality" to get more life out of the toner. Pain to do but once set for everyday printing to -3 and then change back for quality jobs it does save on funds when each toner is so high in price. i would say it is the printer that restricts the yield not the toner it's self.

    Cartridges too high, if you replace cartridges twice you almost pay for a new laserjet.
    Otherwise it's a very good printer I've been using it for years,with very few problems. If HP came down with their cartridge prices they would grab a good piece of the market
