I buy this product quite often.
Toner is great - easy to use and not messy.
Too bad it is not available in stores!

Ok - first for the good points - these cartridges (black & colors as well) are super easy to replace in my machine (HP Business Inkjet 1100) and they seems to perform quite well. I've never had an QC issues with one, and I've had my printer for at least 2-3 years now.
The not-so-good? These cartridges have an 'expiration date' chip in them, and the printer will not print once the expiration date is reached, even if there is still ink in the cartridge. I use my color printer occasionally (I use my b&w laser much more frequently), and I've had to toss out cartridges that are 80-90% full (and even an unused one) because some arbitrary expiration date has been met. That's ridiculous! They're too expensive to just be tossing away because HP wants you to fork out new money for 'fresh' ink. I think HP should recognize that consumers are smart enough to decide when the ink is no longer good. Definitely don't stock up on these unless you go through them frequently!
Comments about HP 40 Black Ink Cartridge (51640A):
Although this cartridge is not any that is in current line of HP devices there are many of us Home and Small Business users that need this series of cartridges. Namely the 40 and 44 series of ink Cartridges. Hopefully we will not have to relay on people to refill these cartridges for us for number 1 it is expensive and you can't relay on the results.

With all the cartidges Staples stocks, why can't tey stock this one. They offered to order and promissed it would be there in a day...so we made a commitment to tht client! and it took two days, don't believe the sales help, they are uninformed.
Comments about HP 40 Black Ink Cartridge (51640A):
I know I have an old "plotter" and I really don't have a choice as to what cartrige I can use. Still, it would be nice to to be able to find it in the store and not have to order it every time.
