Not Very Good When Compared to Earlier

The HP 1000 I have has been a great performer for about 10 years...those HP printers that came later are still inferior to this great wide carriage printer. HP inks are expensive and I expect the quality of color not to vary...ever...since this cartridge
# 41A is not in wide use anymore it is probably farmed out to a specialty LTL supplier...An inkjet printer relies on very high quality inks.
The latest 41A cartridge is a disappointment...

We purchased this cartridge as a spare because we needed to use our last new color cartridge. For the first time in many years our brand new HP ink cartridge failed to operate. We replaced the new (within lifetime) cartridge with the "spare" which did work. The HP 41 cartridge is still under warranty and expensive enough to go to the trouble to contact HP. I hope this is not a trend because the HP printer has been very reliable, til now.

All ink cartridges are TOO expensive.
By the time you replace the color and black a couple times a year, you could by a new printer.
