You look on the side of the package, and it tells you what series of all-in-ones use the 56/57 ink pack. It might say under the all-in-one category that it is usable in the 6000-6500 series. If it does, it means that you should be able to use it in your 6100 printer. I don't hesitate to ask the clerks at Staples (who are almost always willing to help)to verify what I think I am reading on the box. Good luck.
