OK for regular printing

I find that the color is not the best for reproducing photos either from copying them or from the ones stored on the computer. The color needs to be much brighter , black is ok...Read complete review

I find that the color is not the best for reproducing photos either from copying them or from the ones stored on the computer. The color needs to be much brighter , black is ok. I use the Epson Picture Mate printer, have been for 8 years to print my photos from the flash card & find the color is so true on all my photos that I print. everyone comments on how great they are. I find that the inks are getting so expensive and it is good that Staples has rewards for returned cartridges so that I can get the ink there. I cannot afford to buy another printer for my computer.

I like the how easy it is to change out the ink cartridges in this series, but I have had some issues with clogged ink, and have had to replace some cartridges before they were empty. With the expense of these cartridges, I was not too happy. It would be nice that if you have an issues with a cartridge that there could be some type of refund (slight) for them.

    My use of color is limited. How far these color cartridges last in terms of time period? What about the expiry date reflected on the package and can these cartridges be used thereafter?

    • A:

      HP cartridges typically expire 2 years from their date of manufacture. After that date, the cartridge MAY be unusable. It depends on your printer and if it allows resetting the date. Aftermarket cartridges generally do not have the ink expiration chip enabled, so you can use the cartridge until it is dry.
