We bought the high yield ink in the hope that it would last longer than the standard ink. We had lots of Staples Rewards, so it ended up being only half the price of what it normally cost. I usually just buy the standard ink, as the high yield is a little expensive and I am not sure if it will really last longer than the standard ink. The color is really bright and doesn't run. The black is nice and dark and is similarly set in place. The ink cartridges were easy to install and went in cleanly. I will see if they indeed do last longer than the standard size ink, as time goes on. I have two daughters who do lots of printing for school, as well as for fun, so time will tell. If you have the extra money or Staples Rewards, I would say try the high yield ink.

we use a lot of ink with 2 creative 3rd graders. the XL is what I have been buying, it is pricey but when I use my rewards it helps put my mind at ease with spending the bigger $$

I love my HP printers. I have had many different ones over the years and for different computers, etc. I've had a few "non-HP" printers as well, and they are always a disappointment after the ease and quality of my HPs. The inks are simple and easy to replace, although I wish they lasted longer, and I'm not happy when the printer stops working because the ink is low, but is still producing good images. Sometimes I just want it to let ME make that decision like my older HP printers did. I think a reminder is good, but the decision to change the cartridge should be the users!

I use this ink in a personal printer for a small business while traveling. Often I have to print duplicate copies of small manuals, instructional directives and company reports. These cartridges have provided at least a 25% longer life than the normal sized ones while maintaing a bright and legible print. I would obviously highly recommend this replacement ink cartridge to anyone who uses their printer often either personally or in a business setting. Staples has it in stock at a competitive price across se er states that I have traveled to.
