Cartridge is good quality, being that it's for an older printer. Once I tried a generic brand that Staples sold that was supposidly just as good, but it didn't produce as good a color. However, I don't think inkjet cartridges should cost so much in general! The cartridge should last longer, or the price should go down, particularly for the older style cartridges.
The newer printers and inkjets produce more life-like, long-lasting color though, since they use separate cartridges for each primary color. As long as I keep this printer, I'll continue buying this particular cartridge.

Normally the HP color ink cartridges that I buy are just fine, but the last one printed colors that were really "off." I have a Word document that I print when checking color print cartridges. It contains four lines - red, blue, yellow and black. When I printed this file, I got really funky pastel shades. Luckily all I had to do was take the cartridge back to Staples and it was exchanged without a problem. As somebody once said, "That was easy."
