HP 78 XL is a great buy
I like the HP 78XL cartridge because it contains twice the amount of the HP fine inks and performs well.

I buy a replacement each time I replace my cartridge to be sure I will have it on hand when it runs out. Per my receipt I bought a cartridge a year ago and when I went to put it in it would not align. So I took it to the Grants Pass Staples and showed the receipt. She showed me the expiration date on the box and said it was too old. To my surprise the expiration date was BEFORE the date of the receipt by at least a couple of months. I pointed that out to her but she said it was expired and I would have to buy a new one. She would NOT budge. So I did buy another but I was really disappointed, So I will from now on be sure to check the expiration date when I buy, It was an expensive lesson for me [$] for the new cartridge). [...]
Comments about HP 78XL Tricolor Ink Cartridge (C6654FN), High Yield:
This is the second XL cartridge I've bought and I'm not happy with the color and I don't think it lasts any longer than the regular cartidge. At least the regular cartidge had better color and lasted longer than these 2 XLs I've bought in the last few months.

Q:
Ineed a color ink cartage for my Deskjet 952c. The cartage I got from office depot is #627-555. Is that the same as the 78xl tricolor cartage(c65/78an)?
Although the cartridge is the same physical size, the high yeild cartridge contains 38 ml of ink as opposed to the regular cartridge which only contains 19 ml. That means the high yeild cartridges will last twice as long as the regular. If you do a lot of color printing, this is a good thing. If you do very little color printing, I would recommend using the regular size cartridge so you use it up before it gets old.
