The Best Ink to Use

I use the product for all printing jobs, invitations, parties, announcements, flyers, letters. The print is always clean and clear, I don't have to buy as often because the ink cartridge lasts a long time. The only thing i don't like is opening the packaging, it's really difficult. If the mfg.would change the packaging to something less , perhaps they would be able to lower the price which is also very expensive.

Find a Generic Ink Cartridge

I use the extended hp black ink cartridge in an hp fax and printer. The printer is used sparingly to print documents requiring colored text or highlighting. The extended ink cartridge, as well as the hp color ink cartridges, run short of ink quickly. I see no benefit in purchasing hp ink cartridges to generic ink refills. Both seem to last the same amount of time without a noticeable difference in appearance. The generic ink cartridges, however, are much less costly than the hp cartridges with or without Staples credit when returning the used hp cartridges. I tried the hp cartridges several times to see if a fluke, but they consistently put out less ink than generics. So, back to generic ink cartridges. Sorry Staples, we tried.

You have to buy this ink - if you want to use the printer in which you invested... I don't like the imitation brands, I do like the convenience and peace of mind knowing my cartridge will work when I need it. Tried a non-HP brand and was burned, not worth the trouble if you are super busy and can't afford messing around with inferior cartridges.
It does feel like gouging - what HP charges for these.

At times, it seems the 88XL doesn't last long and at times it seems it lasts longer. What does not last long is the HP88, which I will no purchase under any circumstance.

# of estimated output pages is extremely over exaggerated. The estimates on the packaging state 2450 pages. Most I have even gotten on my black XL is 1000 pages. Gross exaggeration of output! [...]

If you need an inexpensive all in one machine to use infrequently or for a short period of time, this maybe an option. However, I would compare other brands cartridge replacement costs and number of pages per cartridge. HP is expensive to operate. This printer was given to me by my last place of employment. I would never purchase this machine myself. HP has failed in it's innovated mission to provide more cost effective products.
