My Life-Saver

It's pretty straight forward; there's the long cord connected to the power source, the actual charger, and the adapter (if it's necessary, depends on your model). Basically, I work on projects at home (sometimes hours on end) and it comes in handy. Then, I'll go off to a center or the local library to keep researching and it's saved my life (seeing how I'll stay there from early morning to late into the afternoon). The problem with it is, rarely, in public places you can't find the needed jack. On top of that, there's always a chance of risking a "surge" -- that's the awesome thing about it!

A surge can potentially destroy the laptop, but luckily -- the charger is surge-protected so the only damage is to the charger rather than the actual laptop. This only happens after multiple uses, so be careful to make sure you know the voltage of the jack that you're plugging it into (mostly those airports and other public areas).

Besides that, there's much not to worry about it. Small, compact yet you can unwind it to find a decent-sized cord that gives you flexibility. I would definitely recommend this for general use to traveling.

I wish this replacement was the the same as the one that came with the laptop. No 3 inch adapters. It falls out often and I usually dont notice until my battery is completely dead and the computer shuts off.

I bought 4 different "universal" cords before buying the one made for HP.... Best to just buy the one made for the system you have the first time! Only problem is the box runs VERY hot when plugged in overnight.

At first when I opened the package and tried to use the adaptor it didn't work. I didn't notice the extra piece in the box at first. Needed the two pieces is a problem because it is easy to come undone.

After a year of moderate use my original AC Adapter cord stopped working. I had to buy another if I wanted to use my computer and since the original HP battery only lasts about an hour, I had to replace it quickly. I was grateful that Staples had the adapter in stock.
