What happened to ONE cartridge?

What happened to just ONE cartridge? I'm on my 4th HP printer. Works beautifully, but I was appalled at the quantity of unnecessary packaging required for each cartridge! And no return envelopes were included. You have a great product, but please be considerate of our planet when you design your next generation of printers. Thank you.

I use this product to print out coupons, letters, pictures and other documents. The cartridge is easy to load. The thing I hate is that it has a short life. I do not use colors very much, just black, and the ink is still used up. The ink was used way too fast. When I do use color ink, I do not print with the best quality to help preserve ink. That does not work. We are thinking of getting a laser printer just to save on ink.

I have the HP wide format printer and absolutely love it, the quality is fabulous. However, the cartridges are expensive and don't last very long, even when printing an 8-1/2 x 11 print. No way does it come close to 300 pages, maybe 25-30 pages, if that. Don't have much of a choice but to buy these cartridges if I want to use my printer. Have not found a refill kit which would help.
