The quantity of ink in the cartridge is too little for my liking. For example; the other day I was printing some pictures and right in the middle I ran out of yellow. I had to change cartridge and redo the picture. There have been several occasions when running out of black in the middle of a document has caused a problem. The printer is good but the small ink cartridges are not.

Q:
I recently purchased and used this exact same ink cartridge. It says that it yields approximately 175 pages per cartridge. I have gotten NO WHERE NEAR that amount of full color pages printed and yet my computer tells me that my ink cartridge is almost out of ink (maybe I've come close to 1/5 that amount. I print photos on the entire page using full color or sepia tones on each sheet. How do they decide that it can yield so many pages? Do they include full color? On full pages? Was my cartridge missing ink or something?
Page yield is the number of pages a user can print with a given printer and cartridge, based on certain assumptions. ISO standard page yields therefore should be used only as a starting point for comparison purposes, and not to predict the actual yield you will get from your HP printer and cartridge. Actual yield varies considerably based on the content of printed pages, frequency of printing, ink used in printer set-up and other factors.
