I use a lot of black ink for my college papers and it always looks perfect. No splatter, smuging, or smearing. The color cartriges get a lot of use as well since I do a lot of digital scrapbooking. I love to create beautiful photos of my Grandchildren or of my friends Children or Grandchildren. I make many scrapbooks for people who retire from our company. The colors are always bright and have never faded. I only use original HP products because they are the best. I just wish the price would come down some - they do tend to be pricey.

The cartridge life seems to have recently declined in the past year or so. I would rather pay a little more per cartridge rather than have less ink in each cartridge. I feel as though I am being cheated however, with less ink in each cartridge than before. If there was another (reliable) company out there selling these cartridges, I would buy them.
