      Comments about HP DC5850 Refurbished Desktop PC:

      Hardware and software setup seemed fairly quick and easy - if I remember correctly, it took about 30 minutes to get up and running. The computer is my first step in migrating to Windows 7, since XP loses support in 2014. The processor (Athlon 64 X2 5000) is supposedly almost as powerful as the one in my two-plus-year-old Lenovo laptop (Core 2 Duo P7570). Neither can come close to matching the latest and greatest on the market, but this Athlon appears able to smoothly handle 1080p YouTube video which my laptop usually struggles with. I haven't tried my number-crunching software on it yet. If that works out ok, it may get both business and entertainment usage. For such a small case, it certainly has enough memory and hard drive space for all of my potential purposes.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
