The description says this tape is good for 50 cleanings. I clean the tape drive on my server every week. I have used several of these tapes over the past few years and have NEVER had one go more than 20 uses.

Comments about HP DDS 4mm Drive Cleaning Cartridge:

Not much to tell -- it's a cleaning tape. I run it through my tape drives about once a month (~100 service hours per month) as a regular part of the routine. The few times where I've had a tape drive complain and blink its cleaning light, this tape has solved the problem.

I also like the included sticker for the tape that allows one to mark the number of uses by filling in little squares. Helps keep track of tape expiration and plan for restocking.

  After speaking with Dell and HP I found this HP cleaning cartridge will not work with your Dell data drive. Currently; we do not carry a Dell cleaning cartridge, but we may be able to special order it for you. If you would like us to research this further, please contact us at 1-800-333-3330.

WE CURRENTLY US A VXA CLEANING CARTRIDGE. THE CARTRIDGE THAT WE CURRENTLY US CAN BE USED FOR VXA-320, VXA-172, VXA-2 AND VXZ-1.

IS THIS CLEANING TAPE AN EQUIVALENT, WOULD I BE ABLE TO USE THIS TO EFFECTIVELY CLEAN OUR TAPE DRIVE?
