No detail in dark and bright areas

There is a trade off between speed and color accuracy, and this printer loses color accuracy to make it faster. The reds look orange, and magenta is reddish. In the brighter areas Green,...Read complete review

There is a trade off between speed and color accuracy, and this printer loses color accuracy to make it faster. The reds look orange, and magenta is reddish. In the brighter areas Green, Cyan and Blue have no detail, Red and Magenta have little detail, while Yellow and Greyscale succeed. Red, Blue, and Magenta have no detail in the darker areas, while Green, Cyan, and Yellow have a little and Greyscale is good. But who prints black and white photos unless they are archiving their geneology?

        THIS IS A GOOD QUALITY PRINTER IT IS A 2510 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER PACKED IN A 2512 ALL-IN-ONE CARTON MADE IN CHINA FOR HEWLETT PACKARD. I WENT THRU ABOUT 7 BOXES OF THEM AND FINALLY DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND KEEP THE 2510 ALL-IN-ONE I THINK IF YOU BUY ONE YOU WILL LIKE THE LIGHTWEIGHT OF THE PRINTER AND ALL THE FUNCTIONS IT CAN PERFORM. FOR THE MONEY IT IS A FAIR DEAL. I AM KEEPING THIS ONE AND I HOPE IT WILL LAST A LONG TIME. MY CANON ALL-IN-ONE BLEW UP AND WOULD NOT EVEN RELEASE THE INK TANKS, SOO I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO HEWLETT PACKARD BECAUSE THEIR EQUIPMENT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD. JUST BE AWARE OF ONE THING YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET AN HP 2512 ALL-IN-ONE BECAUSE ALL THE CARTONS I HAVE OPENED AND RETURNED WERE HP 2510 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTERS. THESE

        Original All In One from yesteryear was in need of ink at Tax Time, of course! This printer was the price of one cartridge for my antique. But Staples did have the INK in stock, with an advisory! Seems Hewlett Packard was Discontinuing the INK for this device. Oh MY! What to do? I had two Color cartridges left and needed only black. I previously purchased Extended ink and saw dual packs or multi packs. Well I could spend a few hundred dollars or check out new. Like I said the 2512 was about two thirds of the price of a new cartridge. So basically I said it was time to retire my old trustworthy friend. This new printer right away printed out a PHOTO of people in a colorful scenic back area. I am so impressed already and I didn't even to a PHOTO special print of it. Colors were better than my dear old Recycled BUD. RIP BUD

          this was an easy setup, and does all the things my expensive one did before it quit after 5 years,
          i will buy the same one for my daughter's birthday, this printer is the cheapest one i ever bought and did not expect it to do what it does,and will definetly recommend it,

                  The best photo print resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi. That is not very good. An HP Photosmart printer has at least a 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution. Native mirror printing is dependent on what operating system you have, the drivers are not all the same. HP Photo Creations is a free download that can offer mirror printing. Microsoft Paint, which installed in your PC already, will mirror an image.
