I bought a new HP computer in Jan. I bought the printer to go with it but could not use the enclosed disc to connect to my computer. I even went to HP's customer service and they could not help me connect the printer. This all means I am not a very happy person now.

Due to the USB cable need, noted above, I contacted a rep and received the best service of that sort in over 20 years. The man ("Inda" from Calcutta) called me back twice and solved my problem 100% -- a first in my history of calling help online.

I purchased this as a quick home printer. When it arrived and I started to set it up, I was shocked to learn that it didn't come with a USB cord that is necessary for its functioning. Shocking that HP would offer, and Staples would sell without a disclosure that all of the essential equipment needed to operate it.

It is also a bit larger than I expected. I still haven't used it.

  No, this printer is not equipped with wireless capabilities. If you really like this printer, you may want to consider also purchasing the separate HP bluetooth adapter. It can be used to turn any printer with a USB port into a wireless printer.

  The best photo print resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi. That is not very good. An HP Photosmart printer has at least a 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution. Native mirror printing is dependent on what operating system you have, the drivers are not all the same. HP Photo Creations is a free download that can offer mirror printing. Microsoft Paint, which installed in your PC already, will mirror an image.

  Since the HP Deskjet 2512 handles film transparencies it should handle thermal transfer paper (iron-on paper) without any problems.

  A:
  Use the single-cartridge mode to operate the HP Deskjet 2510 with only one print cartridge. The single-cartridge mode is initiated when a print cartridge is removed from the print cartridge carriage. During single-cartridge mode, the product can copy documents, copy photos, and print jobs from the computer. When the HP Deskjet 2510 operates in single-cartridge mode, a message is displayed on screen. If the message is displayed and two print cartridges are installed in the product, verify that the protective piece of plastic tape has been removed from each print cartridge. When plastic tape covers the print cartridge contacts, the product cannot detect that the print cartridge is installed.
