I like this printer and here's why: As mentioned on the "Pros" section plus it is quite, quick on start up, easy to install under Windows XP, on Vista is easy too but if you're doing Advance Setup include the HP Extended Capabilities otherwise you'll have a failure setup. It was easy on Mac OS as well. BTW, this install was through network capability (Manually or Automatic) and whether it is through USB both are easy. What I like the most is 30-PPM and up to 1200-DPI with 16MB of memory; cool hah! I like the power button too it's not as clunky as the other HPs, medium foot-print okay too. -- I guess people would want to know how reliable this printer. Well it's new printer and maybe I'll re-comment after 3 or 6-months but with HP's reputation is always more that expected. And maybe then I'll give it an extra "Star".

I bought this printer and traded it the next day for the P2055dn. You will find many owners on this blog complaining about high toner consumption. What they are really complaining about is the fact that the P2035 WILL NOT WORK with the 05X extended capacity toner cartridge. With this printer you can only use the regular 05 toner cartridge. The P2055dn model will work with either cartridge. The extra $150 for the P2055dn is worth the cost-per-page savings. The P2055dn is a more sophisticated printer: prints both sides, and it has elaborate diagnostics. Furthermore, the P2055dn has a 500-sheet paper feeder add-on ($125 through HP) which you can install yourself.

Not a good dual paper use printer. You only can put 50 pages in the top tray. Indicators went on all the time and had to power off/on during most print jobs

I've used this printer for 3 months now. No problems, no jams. Several 1000 pages, mostly text, some graphics. Quick network setup. I use it in quiet mode, a few less PPM's, but much less noise. cons: the toner it comes with won't last long, and the aftermarket toner guys had not started to clone this one yet. Still cheaper per copy than ink jet though, even with HP toner replacement. BUY IT.

Comments about HP® LaserJet P2035n Printer:

Was unpacked and printing in about 15-20 minutes after arriving home.

It replaced a HP Laser Jet 1200 that finally died after 8 years. I just removed the old printer and used old USB cable and power cable and sat in place where old one fit.

Did not use network option as my color HP is on that and I have no more hardwired ports open.

Good price from Staples plus the $50 rebate made this an excellent buy.

Printing is very noisy for first print out, but I have been doing 50 page print outs and the rest, after initial page, are about normal for what I am used to.

So at least for the moment I am satisfied. If it lasts as long as old one I will be every satisfied.

Seems solid to me, but others have noted flimsey parts. I have no complaint in that area.

If only it made coffee too!

Comments about HP® LaserJet P2035n Printer:

Aside from a dead power cable having shipped with the product, & the flimsy paper tray, I've been impressed with the quality & non-consumable-cost -related aspects of the P2035n. It powers on quickly, prints quickly, output is crisp & of high quality, & the printer is ~silent when in powersave mode. However, I wish I'd purchased the P2055DN, due to the stunningly high per page cost associated with the output of the P2035N, & the fact that the P2035N is incompatible with the 05X high yield cartridge. For anyone 'stuck' with this printer, utilizing Economode printing as a default is about the only way to mitigate the consumable cost 'damage' (aside from not printing at all) -- however, I prefer high quality -- but I feel forced to downgrade the output, in order to not find myself spending nearly $100 every few weeks. I wish I had done more homework regarding toner cartridge compatibility prior to purchasing this printer (it is understandable why one would 'assume' that a printer which took CE505A toner cartridges would be compatible with a CE505X high yield cartridge, but, it turns out not to be the case -- there is no high yield option for the P2035N, which is ultimately the greatest source of my dismay).
