After 10 years, I decided to replace my old HP laserjet all-in-one with a new one. I use it on a home network (connected to the router with an ethernet cable). It has many advantages over the old one:
1. It is easier to set up with Mac, Linux, and Windows computers on the home network than a printer attached to one of those machines.
2. It prints faster, with automatic two-sided printing.
3. The scanner is flat-bed.
4. It should be able to save faxes to a Windows computer instead of printing them.
5. It has an automatic document feeder (ADF) for scanning and copying. (I never got the old one to handle multi-page faxes.)
6. The scanner works with my Mac.
7. Various little features. For example, it has a copying mode that lets you copy both sides of an ID card onto one side of one page, without having to feed the paper through twice.
8. It is black.

It does have some minor shortcomings:

a. It will not save faxes to my Mac nor Linux computers, only Windows.
b. The ADF does not handle two-sided originals. You can make 1-to-1 or 1-to-2 sided copies, but not 2-to-1 nor 2-to-2 sided.

I purchased this printer for use in our used car dealership document office. I LOVE IT. Its very quick for printing documents, the quality of the print is excellent. We also use this machine for faxing and scanning. The scanner is also very quick. This machine has helped cut down on waiting time! Only con that I can see is that it seems like we are going through ink very very quickly. Now we do use this machine ALOT, so maybe it is just us.. But I would highly recomend it!! Excellent Machine!!

Bought this to replace an ink jet that couldn't produce consistent printing - and just after putting in a $30 dollar cartridge. It went to the junk (XXXXX brand) after about a year's use. So far, and I don't print all that much, I'm impressed with the quality of the printing and enjoy the duplex feature. Don't really need color at this point. Setup is very easy. Doesn't appear to have installed too much junk software. Looked at other options but combination of price and features (wireless important) made this the choice.

The printer copies and prints quickly. It seems very noisy compared to our last HP All-in-one. Have not used scan or fax function yet. Was unable to connect using a printer cable - Had to use a network cable.

I am very happy with this purchase. I connected the printer in minutes via the ethernet connection to an Apple Wireless Airport Express to turn it into a wireless printer. The printer automatically assigned the IP address and I was up and running.

I am using ePrint and it works great from both my iPad and iPhone. The printer is fast...typically about 7-8 seconds first page out speed. Duplex works well. The HP Utility and scanning software has also worked flawlessly since I originally installed both...this is the first time I can say that as I have always had problems with the HP software over the years.

My primary computer is an iMac, I did uninstall the previous HP software prior to installing the new software for this printer and for the first time ever the software install worked the first time and I didn't even have to call HP.

This is the first positive review I have ever written for an HP printer. I have had fairly bad experiences with HP printers in the past, but this printer is really good.

The moment I plugged it in, everything worked well. Printing, scanning, Faxing, copying. And I like the flatbed, which I use a lot for scanning. It's a pleasure.
