I bought this printer to replace my old HP 1012. The 1012 had more metal in it and had a sturdier build. There was nothing wrong with the old printer. My new computer said that it was incompatible with it. Is there collusion between these tech companies to increase sales or what? Anyhow, the new printer is OK.It was super easy to set up as my new computer recognized it and practically did the whole set up without me doing hardly anything. No major problems so far. It is noisier than the 1012 and is smaller and lighter. I use it for printing documents for college and other light personal use.

HP printers are sturdy and well built to serve longer than any printers at highly competetive price. In our office we have several HP printers. This printer is an additional one we bought this because it works in WIRELESS ENVIRONMENT.

It is fantastic printer took less then 10 minutes to set it up. Totally we spent 20 minutes to set up three computers.

I have a "big" HP Color Laserjet 2840 that is set-up in my home office, but I frequently work in the dining room after work hours and need to print. It's a "long" walk to the 2840, so having this little priter (P1120W) sitting in a nearby bookshelf is ideal; and the wireless connection works like a charm. I love the printer and would recommend it to anyone that needs a small basic laser printer.

I was excited when HP came out with a small laser printer. No, it is not color, but for what I need it for, it is perfect. Fast, small foot print. Downside is the wireless set up. I even have an HP laptop. The wireless set up took about 3 hours. Too long. I still like the printer, but I really needed a wireless.

  Although this product doesn't have a separate media tray, you could feed your check paper through the priority slot to print a single check. This would be used in combination with a MICR toner that is required for check printing. We may be able to special order a compatible HP 85A MICR toner.   This will print postcards and envelopes, so you shouldn't have a problem printing a check. A standard postcard is 4" x 6", so as long as your check is at least 4" tall you should be good.
