This is an OK but rather undistinguished paper. The text quality is good-to-very-good but a notch or two lower than the better multiuse and printing papers. Like most of HP's papers, the quality control with this paper is very good-to-excellent. The brightness and thickness are both consistent from package to package. However, like most 20-lb. papers, this paper is rather thin and a little 'flimsy' and is not suitable for 2-page documents, documents needing a lot of toner/ink, and/or documents that must last a long time. Some ink bleeds through when a lot of ink/toner is needed for certain documents when using this paper. Also, this paper's 96 US/GE brightness rating is 'mid-pack' among multi-use papers and I wished this paper was brighter. Anyway, among 20-lb. multi-use papers, this HP paper is among the best of an unimpressive bunch even though I gave it three (3) stars overall. I recommend this paper for basic copying and printing jobs.

Comments about HP Multipurpose Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", Ream:

This paper works best for our Color LaserJet 2600n printer, but also for our BusinessJet 2250 inkjet and the newest one, the F2480 printer/scanner.
It is very helpful to not have to change paper types based upon the type of printing or the kind of printer we are going to use. With four (4) different printers in our office, two LaserJets, and two Injects - all HP - we needed paper we could load into all printers and forget about having to do special papers for each printer.
This is the one; works for all printers and all types of printing.
