Excellent MFP, easiest WiFi setup

The best part was the 100% automatic WiFi setup. Since we use WEP/WIA security key in our environment, I wasn't sure how that could possibly be automatically setup. HP works some kind of magic, and everything was setup in a couple of minutes. I didn't have to do anything. I NEVER had to plug in a cable! And boom, I'm printing and scanning over WiFi ... just like that! Amazing!

What's made my life so much easier has been the flawless operation of network scanning. I could not get network scan to work reliably on previous MFPs (non-HP), so I always had to use the USB cable for scanning.

With OfficeJet 4620, network scanning is a breeze. This allows the unit to be placed anywhere.

I also really like the ability to create custom "shortcuts". In each shortcut, you can select (flatbed or ADF), paper size, output format (PDF, JPEG), mode (color/gray/b&w), settings (contrast/brightness), specify destination folder (including email attachment). You can create as many "shortcuts" as you wish, even one for each destination folder. So nice!

I am not just completely satisfied with the OfficeJet 4620, but I was truly amazed with the WiFi setup, and very happy with the reliable/flexible scanning.

Of course, print/copy/fax work flawlessly.

This is a good printer at a bargain price. It's surprisingly small given its all-in-one functionality. Installation was quick and easy. It is also simple to operate.

The print quality is excellent and the fax and scanner are also working very well. I am extremely satisfied.

This is not the device for you if you want to automatically print dual sided or if you want to print directly from a mobile device. But if those features are not important to you, you can save a lot of money by choosing this printer.

After 2 years of working paperless I now have a printer I can use for work.(The company laptop doesn't like my 2009 HP all-in-one, which I love.) The installation was a breeze, and my fussy Dell will communicate with no problem.
I wanted a smallish printer, but I also wanted an all-in-one with Fax capabilities. It was the Fax that prohibited me from getting my preferred footprint.
Oh, other brands may have had something that would suit my purpose, but now I rarely buy anything other than HP. I've had two non-HP printers over the years, and both were popular brands. One just quit for no reason after about 1 year. When my next non-HP printer ran out of ink, it was less expensive to buy a new HP - so I did.
This purchase is relatively recent so there is no way for me to use ink usage, and don't print long documents any longer or need anything urgent so I cannont comment on print time.
The printer will be reliable because it's an HP. I had an original B&W HP BubleJet but gave it to my brother when I purchased an HP DeskJet. Then I escalated to the first HP InkJet (which was perfecct for my consulting company). Now I am on my third HP all-in-one (Had to leave one with a friend last time I moved.)
Why did I bore you with this info? Because the DeskJet, InkJet and the three all-in-ones still work. That is more than 30 years of reliability from HP. (Anyone want to buy an antique printer?)
