This new version of the 8000 is a replacement for the one purchased 2.5 years ago. The casing
cracked on the bottom of the original and ink
leaked onto the shelf. This one boots up a little faster than the original. This is one of the few models of printer that fits the shelf and the paper feed is best for the location.

Terrible printer. I got this on the recommendation of a Staples salesperson. From the beginning, the print quality was pretty awful - definite lines in every image it put out. Over time, these lines got worse and worse, especially when using black and yellow ink. About a year after purchase, a pair of scissors was dropped on top of the printer - from maybe 2' up. Printer died, had to be repaired. This printer also tells you you're running out of ink when there's clearly plenty left in each cartridge, and if you "run out" of a single color, won't print at all. Won't be buying HP, or listening to Staples sales staff, again.

    Printer lasted 2 1/2 years, but was a problem from the very beginning. Paper misfeed was the biggest problem, which ended up wasting so much paper. I could always depend on it to fail me. Do not buy this printer!!!

      Breaks sooner that expected after warrantee expires ( a month or so). Uses CMYK for black and white printing as default. Once a color depletes, the printer will not even print in black and white until you replace the empty color. Inks are very expensive. If you are a casual user, you'll end up paying twice the price of the printer in inks in a year. I would not recommend this printer to anyone Very bulky printer. This printer is my second printer with bad results. Not worth the price. Never an HP again.

        We purchased this to replace a similar model HP
        printer. The bottom cracked and ink damaged the shelf. We have a limited space for a printer and the size and configuration re paper feed is perfect. This one boots up faster than the 8000 we replaced.

            I ordered this product recently and thought that it was wireless because of this statement. •Wireless 802.11b/g/n and USB 2.0 interface. Please tell me what this means. When I looked in specifications. It states that this printer is not wireless.
