This machine will stop your work flow, it has to "recalculate". I work in a busy office what demands copies, I don't have the time to let the machine stop and wait for it to start again. Dialing fax numbers can be tricky as it can re-set itself while you are typing them in. It also jams paper in the ADF feeder. I do not care for it.

The tray is white, yet the 8500 series printers are black. Looks ridiculous in our office. Wish it came in black. Had to spray paint it.

love the product although I wish it was black to match the printer. easy set up, frees up drawer one for use with envelopes, drawer two paper.

Does not hold a different size paper than the original tray. I wanted something to hold two different size paper.

Does this tray work for the 8500A model? I am confused as to where on top of the default tray this will go. Need help deciding if this will work??

Q:
I have installed this product on the bottom of my officejet 8500. My print driver does not recognize it ("tray 2" is grayed out as an option). What am I doing wrong? The device came with NO DOCUMENTATION, and there is nothing on the HP website explaining how to use it. HELP!

  No this is the 2nd paper tra to expand the paper capacity of the machine. If your model has the automatic duplexing unit already it is set up for 2 sided printing.
