Answer this question 1 answer A: Digital telephone service usually refers to the backbone of the system and not what is actually connected to your phone. If you are able to plug into your telephone jack and hear a dial tone, what you have is the analog end of the digital network. There is always some interface either in an outside house box or further up the line that converts the digital backbone to analog POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service). The only kind of telephone service not compatible with POTS connections is VOIP. That is service like Vonage. A POTS fax modem will not work over a VOIP line. Q: I love this printer however I cannot get it set up correctly. I have 1 phone line and for whatever reason I can not get it set up for the fax to pick up on "fax" calls. Instead my answering machine will answer the call. I have changed my ringers and done everything the manual has told me.
