I wanted a wireless printer that actually worked with my desktop and 2 laptops. My old HP flatbed all-in-one did not work well with my printer router since it was not designed to work on a network. This one does everything on my wish list.

After following the instructions carefully, I had no problem setting up the printer on the first attempt. I love that the printer can be placed across the room from my desktop. Being able to scan documents and send to any one of my computers saves lots of time. The automatic feeder is great for scans and copies. (During wireless setup, be sure to place printer near the computer since the USB wire may have to be connected temporarily.)

At this price one would not expect alot,but I am truly impressed with the design and get this the ease of installation about an hour and 1 minor glitch partly my fault.What a great value.

You get what you pay for. This is a sensational price, but a really poor product. The first thing that hit me was "where's the paper output tray." Don't worry, you didn't lose it, there isn't one. So sheets just shoot out on top of the feed tray and sometimes get fed right back in and jam.

It has a really compact footprint and looks great. But there's no meat in the engine and it functions really poorly, often feeding misaligned paper.

Printing speed varied widely from spitting out some quick print pages in less than a second to some pretty basic B&W pages that would take 1-2 minutes.

The final straw was when it decided to continue to feed sheet by sheet then return an error message that it was out of paper.

This isn't great HP engineering. Spend a few more bucks and get something decent.

I do not recommend this machine for the following reasons:
1. The supplied software is bloated and I was not able to get the scanner to work wirelessly despite spending a lot of time with customer service.
2. Print quality is below average.

This printer was very easy to set up, both for my 2 pc's and mac on a network. For previous reviewers, there is a way to slide the printer tray out and then flip over a plastic part of the tray to prevent the paper from flying out across the floor after printing.

I have used this for scanning, faxing and copying as well and it has suited my personal and small business needs.

I bought this to replace my dedicated scanner & printer to save space. I will use up my old printer ink before trying the HP print or copy functions so I am only reporting on the scanner. I have 2 major problems. Simply, it is extremely slow. I am on page 15 and have been at this for over 1/2 hour. Part of my issue is the 2nd big problem. This machine cannot scan multiple pages from a bound volume into a single file. I don't know if it can do this for unbound pages yet, but I need it for bound volume reports that can't be taken apart. This is a big pain in the neck and waste of time. After I spend all the time scanning, since I want all pages in one file, I need to convert the individual scans, combine using other software and then save that file and delete my 15 scans. This is more time. Stay clear of this machine if you need to rely on the scan function!
