The laptop is not a touchscreen so I cannot use it at all with Windows 8. I called for further training and no one at the store or in town knows or likes it enough to be able to teach me how to use it with a mouse. I am having Windows 8 removed so I can use the laptop. I'm VERY disappointed in Staples for selling this to me this way. Windows 8 does not belong on a laptop that's not a touchscreen and with no one in the store who can give more than the brief 30 minute training.

I love almost everything about this "sleekbook." It is definitely sleek and light. The keyboard and mousepad are quite good for a laptop. Runs very cool and quite, excellent display and speakers (a real issue with my previous laptop).

The rating for two stars above says it means "Needs that something special," and that pretty much perfectly describes this machine. And what it lacks is a decent, or even a replaceable, battery.

I am a web professional, but my laptop is mostly for personal use, at home. This fact is critical for this review, because I am always near electricity. However, this weekend I am flying across the country, and I know I will not be a happy Sleekbook owner during that time. This laptop is NOT for you if you need extended use of a laptop without access to an outlet. And by "extended" I mean more than about two hours.

Plus, PLUS!, I find out now that there is no replacement/backup battery available for this machine? How is that even possible? I hope I'm wrong about that, because it would indicate gross irresponsibilty on the part of HP. Before buying this machine, you should ask your Staples rep about this little problem.

So, despite my personal nearly 100%-positive experience with this laptop, I would have a really hard time recommending it to a friend unless they were also only using it with ready access to AC power. I think most folks want a laptop that is capable of actual travel.

It's a real shame, because this model is otherwise near GREAT.
