When I buy a computer I keep it for a VERY long time. The top-of-the-line eMachine I just replaced was almost 8 years old. The Compaq before that...6 years. My philosophy is to buy as much computing power and speed for my uses as possible and spend as little as possible. The HP 2326s isn't overkill. It's perfect for fast financial and Quicken downloads and works instantaneously on all of the basics. If you're a serious gamer or edit video and want graphic design there are other more expensive HPs that are for you. If you want a powerful, everyday computer that will work in a home office setting, the HP 2326s is an amazing bargain that won't be obsolete in two years. So I'll keep this one for another 8!

I bought mine, lured in by an "extra $100 off coupon" when Staples had it on sale with $100 discount. At that price it is a budget machine but more than enough for anything I can see myself doing.

The front of the dvd drive is hidden by a plastic cover that rotates downward out of the way when the eject button is pushed. In the process it covers up the button so when you want to close the drive you have to push an almost inaccessible button. When it first starts up, the dvd drive is very loud but I've heard that before on other machines.

There is no VGA port, just DVI-I and DVI-D ports. Don't panic, HP includes and adapter dongle for the DVI-D port that converts it to VGA. Also, if you want to use an HDMI television or monitor, go to ebay. You'll find lots of very inexpensive DVI to HDMI cables (you'll still have to deal with the audio separately.)

There are slots for PCI Express cards (one X16), but remember that a 300W power supply has its limits. The CPU is socketed and replaceable with much higher end i3 and i5 processors if you find you need more speed at a later date. The motherboard has two memory slots, one occupied, and limits you to 8GB.

This is a really nice mini-tower computer with some nice modern touches like USB 3, large HD, and wifi built into a desktop. Give it a look.

I got exactly what I needed. I'm a power user so the Windows 8 interface is clunky. I disabled Windows 8 Metro and now I'm quite pleased with the overall performance, reliability, and efficiency of the overall package. Microsoft needs to rethink the Metro piece of Windows 8.

I'm not technologically savvy,and I have a long learning curve...but not with my new computer. I move around quickly; the tiles are very helpful and movable; websites come up quickly. Frankly, I'm surprised what a good fit this PC is for old-lady me.

the p6 2326s is a good looking fast working machine that makes it a pleasure to work on and with. the speed alone is well worth the purchase. even though it was purchased for personal use it now does a lot of my business work also. it gives me a feeling of greater achievement once the task runs in less time than was needed before. wow.

Things I like about this PC: 1 TB hard drive, memory is expandable to 8 GB, dual channel capability by just adding an identical 4 GB stick of RAM in the other available slot, Pentium processor is not soldered to the motherboard as some lower-end AMD processors are (meaning the processor can be replaced instead of scrapping the whole motherboard),the PC takes up a little less space but is not a slim line (which is harder to work in), and Windows 8 is a great bonus. Overall, this is a really good computer for the money that we paid for it. We are really happy with the purchase!
