Please note: I am a huge Staples fan so I went to Staples to buy this scanner. I chose this particular one because it was an HP product - as are my computer and printers. In the end I had to remove all the software for the scanner and printers and reload it all without the conflict of an HP Twain driver common to them all. With the exception of one HP phone tec (George in Canada,) I got no help. I had bought Staples Help but it doesn't help with installation probs. I had to pay $200 just to get the scanner to run but shortly after it was "fixed" it then reverted to old problems of not working or when it did, grabbing several pages at a time. AND THEN, it lost what little I had scanned. I took it back to Staples and they graciously gave me back my money. When I come back in town I will go back to Staples and buy a Xerox scanner.

Was told when I bought this scanner that it would be compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or later. It was on the store card and Staples web site. When I got it home I noticed no Mac drivers or instructions. Went to hp.com and finally discussed with hp representative who assured me that this device was not and there were no plans to make it mac compatible. I will say that the local Staples store did give me a full refund on returning it to the store, but it's a shame that I spent half a day reviewing the product, discussing with salesperson, buying it, looking on line for information or drivers and finally returning the product. Staples web site needs to be more accurate with product descriptions.

usually feeds more than 1 sheet through at a time forcing me to either rescan or hand feed each sheet, annoying! It also likes to pull the sheets through at an angle. Overall it gets the job done and is easy to use.

The adf is only good for 5 pages or under. When you load it up with more that 5, it seems to take two pages or more @ the same time.When this happens I have to feed it one page @ a time. I really don't have the time for this I need something I don't have to spoon feed....

Love this unit. My company just deployed a scanning software to create digital libraries for small to mid size offices. This is the device of choice for above spec reasons.

Smaller but 10 times faster than the Scanjet 8250... Unfortunately the power supply was defective. I put a replacement on it, and then found it scans a 4 inch wide, solid black bar running down the middle of each scanned page. It appears not to be supported by the latest release of READIRIS PRO 11 either
