I like to use heavy, very bright paper for professional documents, and this stuff is great for the job. I usually print in draft mode when I'm using it for "in house" purposes, and that's quite legible; but when I go into "high quality" mode it really shines. Business graphics also look great: on this bright paper, they really pop.

If you are a consultant, bear in mind that the heft of the paper can make a report seem more valuable to your customer. That's just a quirk of human nature.

I've also printed photos on it, but that's not going to give you great results. For one thing, you'd have to go through the hassle of developing a color profile for the combination of printer and paper. It just isn't worth the bother. I do use it when printing out "funny" picture to share with the family, and it's okay for that.

I have been using the 8.5"x11" Staples product, item #733332 for many years and loved it. When I went to my Staples dealer they were out of stock, so a Staples employee suggested this Hammermill paper which was more expensive then the Staples paper.
I then did some comparisons between the two. The feel and sturdiness was about the same, but when I held up both these papers to a light, the appearance of the Hammermill paper was very blotchy compared to the Staples paper which was very smooth. The whiteness was slightly better on the Staples paper though.
The next thing I tried was to print a photo and then some type fonts. Both the papers were about the same, with a slight edge favoring the Staples product. They were printed with a high quality Canon Pixma printer.

Premium Paper for sure…

Comments about HammerMill® Premium Inkjet Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", 24lb., 500/Ream:

I started using premium paper after I had a few printing jobs done at the Staples Store in Dubuque. I found the pages were much crisper and so easy to turn when I was reading my documents.

I questioned the employee and was informed that is the paper they always use at no extra cost. I have had a few things printed at a competing company (Copy Works) and since the price was comparative, I had no choice but to make Staples my only printing source since then.

Not only is the paper free of jamming, it is also thicker so word print does not show through. Now that is quality that may cost a few pennies more; but is worth dollars more.

Bright white paper never gets stuck

Comments about HammerMill® Premium Inkjet Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", 24lb., 500/Ream:

I have never had a problem with this paper getting stuck in my printer, as I have with Staples' own brand. The paper produces clear, bright colors and is a perfect background for photos you want to pop into an envelope and send to your grandmother, for example (who doesn't use email).

Not as much better than 20# as expected

Comments about HammerMill® Premium Inkjet Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", 24lb., 500/Ream:

Staples used to have sample papers hanging so you could look at and feel the various papers. I wanted something heavier and smoother than standard 20#, so I went with this, based on the packaging. It is nice paper, but I still could see through it more than I liked and it was not remarkably different in feel either. I knew the difference, but am certain my recipients did not notice at all.

Good Quality Overpriced

Comments about HammerMill® Premium Inkjet Paper, 8 1/2" x 11", 24lb., 500/Ream:

There is no problem with the paper or its quality. Still the price appears to be at least 20% higher than it should be.
Its ok if you do not mind paying extra for nothing extra, After shopping around I found the same quality (different brand) for about $3.00 a ream less.
