Q: When others have asked what size this can expand to, the answer is always to a depth of 18 to 16.5 (spmething like that). I want to know what the width is (not legal or letter, but the actual inches) and what it can be adjusted to. Asked on 6/17/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? The adustable depths are 18 inches, 22 inches, 25 inches and 26 1/2 inches. Answered on 6/19/2012 by Tammy S from Customer Care A: The Hirsch mover is adjustable for both width and length, length and width are interchangeable. 15" is letter size width on all filing cabinets, 18" is the width of all legal size filing cabinets. The mover has 4 adjustable sizes, 18" is the lowest possible or any side. 26.5 is the highest possible for any side . A letter size file is moved using the 18" for width and 26.5 for depth. A legal size file is moved using 20" for width and 26.5 for depth. There are any combinations of width and depth options, each of the four sides has 2 adjustments. Q: Can this dolly or file cabinet mover, as you call it, be used as a permanent fixture under a file cabinet so that a cabinet can be turned to access the drawers, and can it work with a fully loaded 4 drawer cabinet Asked on 8/29/2010 by gene from Dallas Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I keep mine under my file cabinets all the time. Yes, the cabinet can be moved and replaced back to it's spot. I have a lightly filled 4-drawer and some very heavy, longer 2-drawer file cabinets and they have all done well. It just might not move as easily if it's tall and very heavy. The base seems very solid and made of thicker metal. The wheels seem heavy enough, as well. Answered on 9/7/2010 by scarrcats from Valley Center, Ca
