Exactly what I needed

My computer's disc drive wasn't working and I spent hours on the phone trying to get updates from the manufacturer. I decided to replace the drive with an external drive and am so satisfied with it. Installation was simple and very fast. It plays music cd's, computer games, and allowed me to install McAfee computer software easily. It has worked perfectly for all applications. Highly recommend.

I use it to listen to MP3 audio file for Bible study for approximately 1 hour each day. It works fine, but is very noisy.

Product was recommended by tech. Was able to burn 2 CDs then did not burn a 3rd or 4th. Haven't had time to try again, so don't know if it would burn again or not. Plan on trying to burn again before 30 day return kicks in.

This CD/DVD burner would not burn to a CD-R. We installed it on three different PCs at our business and it wouldn't work. We sent back the first one we received from Staples, thinking it was broken, but we had the same problem with the second one we received. We are using Windows 7. It did burn files to a DVD+R, but those are significantly more expensive to use than CDs.

I was able to use the recorder to make CD's as soon as it was hooked up to my computer.
It came with a software disc from NTI Media Maker 8.I had to open my "Devices and Printers" program and click on the i/o Magic recorder in order to install the Media Maker software with Windows7.
After the install the NTI Media Maker8 was easy to use for making the first CD burn.I am still working with the other features and find most of it easy to understand.The NTI is similar to the Nero 7 software I have been using for about 4 years. I would highly recommend both the I/O Magic external CD/DVD recorder and the NTI software that came with it. Price of the complete
package was under $60.00 and is worth every penny!

  The discs created by the I/OMagic 24x External DVD-RW Drive are compatible with most playback devices. The device must be compatible with the DVD-RW disc format and the content file type. For example, the Panasonic DVD-S68 is compatible with DVD-RW discs and content created in the MPEG 4 format or DVD format. Your player instruction manual will specify compatible disc types and formats.

  For this I/OMagic 24x External DVD-RW Drive you will not need any special drivers to install it. This is a USB 2.0 plug and play device, which means that you just unhook your old external DVD drive which no longer works and plug this one in with a USB 2.0 cable to one of your computers USB ports and it will automatically recognize the External DVD-RW Drive and you will be able to use it right away with no need of drive installations.

  This drive has a USB interface, so as long as your laptop has a USB interface and uses the Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 operating system, then you can use it with your laptop.
  
  You can use this drive to install games, etc, from DVD or CD disks onto your laptop, and you can use this drive to write data back to blank DVD/CD disks.
  
  You cannot use this drive to 'download' games from the Internet however. That is not a function of a DVD/CD drive.

  No, I/OMagic 24x external Drive has 6x for a DVD-RW, as the lowest speed. As technology progresses it gets harder to find the slower burn speed writers.

Have windows XP, but can no longer rip/burn music CDs. Will this product rip new music CDs into the existing Windows Media Player music library, and also allow me to write/burn music CDs from the existing library, or will it essentially be creating a new music library, separate and apart from the existing WMP library?
