I purchased this device for my father, who is a sales rep and truck driver for a potato chip company. He really needs the freedom to use his hands without having to hold a phone. This product seemed the best choice for the following reasons:1. Value - It was[$] and was well made.2. Easy to Use - Having the Send/End button on the actual headset enables him to stuff the cord in his shirt so it can't snag things with it but still has access to the buttons unlike headsets with the mic on the cord.3. Corded - He preferred corded for two reasons. One, no need to worry about battery life. Two, no need to worry about radioactive waves going into the brain. Unlike bluetooth headsets which give off radiowaves just like a cell phone, corded headsets do not act as a transmitter so its safer.(I don't worry about such things but at his age he worries about everything.)I only have two problems with the device and they are minor. One, a very small mute switch. Two, effective noise cancellation. This may seem like a good thing, because a sensitive microphone in order to be practical must filter out the backround noise. But my father is not a loud individual, and since the mic is not a long boom mic, he can't simply speak at a comfortable tone. He has to be reminded by persons on the other line to constantly speak up. The side effect has been that even when he is not on the phone, he stills shouts for no good reason. Thanks Jabra! Overall an excellent product despite some minor issues.

I was excited about this product when I bought it. The earpiece was wonderfully comfortable. However, the microphone was useful only if I was in a quiet location. Road noise, wind, or any background noise garbled what I was saying, and my voice was unintelligible to the other person.

Comments about Jabra C500 Corded Headset:

This item sounds very good and I am told by people at the other end of the phone conversation that they hear me clearly. Unfortunately it doesn't fit my ear and there is no way to adjust it, so I just stick it in my ear like an Ear Bud and hope that it doesn't pop out.

Comments about Jabra C500 Corded Headset:

Jabra is a leader in headset technology. However, this model lacks clear call quality. I tested the reception quality by making calls to callers that use the same and different cell phone networks. Nevertheless, with each connection the caller stated the sound quality was "muffled", and that is was agonizing for them to hear me. Even when I increased the volume, and after installing a call "Volume booster" application (app) for cell phones to increase the call quality. As a result, the Jabra failed to pass the "hearing" test, and so I returned it for refund.

Will this work with the Iphone 3GS?
            Asked on 8/24/2012 by Donna

            1 answer

            • A:

To use it with an iPhone 3GS, you need to purchase a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter for the headphone jack. So unless you plan on purchasing an adapter, this headset will not work.
