I did a bit of research on machine before picking this one up on sale at 20% off. It got almost all perfect reviews and Jura was a highly suggested company that suppose to make great long lasting machine's that are Swiss made.

The machine is very good looking and easy to use once you get it setup and go through the cleaning process of the machine and filter. Didn't take long at all. Nice easy to use digital display and knob that makes selections easy. Has a nice hidden panel with several warning screens to help troubleshoot problems and issues if you have any (like running out of water). I like how it's fully automatic in which it will clean itself with a small cleaning cartridge as needed. I had an old do it yourself machine, that would take 20 min to get a latte out of and this one takes about 5 which makes it faster than standing in line and paying $5.00 for the same thing. A great LONG (and I mean long at the cost) investment.

I had a nice selection of beans and filled the bean holder and got a nice espresso. Seems like it was a little light so I had to turn down the grind just a bit to get a little more punch. It's nice to be able to choose from 1 or 2 shots at a time. The machine also has a nice programmable feature that allows you to choose the amount of water per shot if you like, but I think the stock setting was spot on.

One thing I did notice is the shot wasn't VERY hot from the get go. Since you don't have the ability to control temp it is what it is. I found running a 1/4 cup of hot water through the system to warm my cup does help, but even then the shot isn't as hot as I would like it and other machines seemed to give a bit hotter shot.

The frother is great and really easy to use. The steam if VERY hot and water temp is almost boiling if you like to drink tea and just need water. The nozzle comes off and apart for quick and easy cleanups also.

I do drink coffee from time to time and really like how I can put in some pre-ground beans for a cup of coffee without having to use up my espresso beans. The only draw back is the holder for the grounds only holds 2 scoops at a time so you can fill it full of grounds and just brew coffee on demand. You have to put in a scoop or 2 and brew then fill and brew.

All in all a great machine that I have really fell in love with so far. It did come with 1 water filter cartridge and 2 cleaning tabs, but at the excessive cost of filter i'll just use my britta once it is used it.

If you have a househould that drinks 1+ or more latte, espress, cappiccino a day it's a well worth it investment that should pay for itself the first year. Plus you don't have to wait in LONG lines to get the same result.
