This SSD drive continues to please me each time I boot up or shut down. It allows me not quite enough time for a brief visit to the bathroom in the morning before it is awaiting my sign-in password. Its that quick.

Booting up & shutting down were not a real concern since switching to Windows 7. But now booting is FAST. I mean really fast. The system doesn't even have time to display the windows logo.

Essentially any activity that is disk speed dependent is much faster. How fast? One benchmarking program rates my fastest mechanic drive at 2.3 (most are 1.8); this drive is off the scales at 58.8. That's right, 58.8.

However, if an activity is constrained by other aspects of your system (such as graphics card or memory or another disk), you won't get much benefit.

The [explitive deleted]-ware bundled with this drive was from Acronis (one of the least competent software publishers I have ever had the dissatisfaction of working with). It failed on numerous tries to ready the disk, as did another program I use. But I had downloaded a full featured program called Reflect by Macrium (free) that successfully cloned my old hard disk. And in a short time after was good to go.

I consulted Kingston's tech support before purchase, and they were easy to reach & suggested the Reflect software.

My bundle came with a USB2 enclosure that facilitated cloning my old system disk. Alas, it is only USB 2.0 rather than 3, so the transfer isn't very fast.

Note that an SSD drive "wears out" thru successive erasing & re-writing. Thus, it is NOT advised as a data disk, or anything for which files are often changing. Since programs & windows files don't change often, it is suitable for a system disk.

Also, for those unaware, do NOT defragment an SSD drive, for exactly the reason just mentioned. The more things are written & erased, the sooner your drive will fail. And when it fails, it will be all-of-a-sudden and that-is-all-she-wrote.

I got to the last step and it would not install. I contacted customer support and the reply was "Unfortunately because this is not the full version of Acronis (included software) , some features are limited. Nonetheless there is another application that we have received good reviews on. With that said , please feel free to give Macrium Reflect a try." IE I can't help but maybe you can get help elsewhere. I am returning the product.

The SSD will not clone. I tried 3 times. It took 4 days and 2 hours of phone "support". Do not buy this unless you have a lot of extra time. This has been painful...

Love how fast the computer boots and how fast the programs open. Love the 3 year warrantee. I've already recommended it to my brother when he purchased a new computer.
