Trackball K64327

By Harold C

Comments about Kensington® K64327 Wired Optical Trackball:

This trackball is great for some features but not for others. I personally can't use it in the field that I work since it has only two buttons. I need more control than what it gives me. I have provided my other employees with this trackball and they all seem to love it. One other thing should be noted here, don't bother with downloading the Trackball Works Software. Let your Windows system find it and set it up. Also, if you have small hands this trackball may not be for you since it is quite wide. It's ergonomic design makes it very comfortable for most everyone.

Comments about Kensington® K64327 Wired Optical Trackball:

This is a simple, no-nonsense trackball. Higher end models with more features are about double the price. It's very reliable, it operates smoothly, and it is very comfortable to use. Having the ball on top (as opposed to the side) lets you use any finger on the ball, which avoids fatigue.

Comments about Kensington® K64327 Wired Optical Trackball:

            This is an excellent trackball.
The marble ball is resting loosely in the device and is exposed on the top and from all sides. This allows easy use from any angle. You can use any hand, any finger and switch it out. This is important for avoiding the same movements over and over and it's very easy to use without bending

This is ergonomically excellent as you can change the motions by changing fingers you use to move the ball. It's very easy to use without bending or (the worst for carpel tunnel) angling your wrist left and right, the problematic movement encouraged by mouse use.
It's easy to use if you are wearing a wrist brace.

On the other hand (pun.. ha ha) their is no mouse wheel. The ball is held loosely in place but if you don't jerk it around it stays in place. I am able to use it resting on my leg but it might not be the best choice for an articulating mouse trey with no stops.

            No Resting place

              • Hard To Use

              Best Uses

Comments about Kensington® K64327 Wired Optical Trackball:

I've happily used trackballs for decades, this is my first from Kensington. It is too short. I have small hands and they hung off the device at an awkward angle. The ball sits on the mouse, it's not securely held in place so each time you need to move the entire mouse the ball falls out. I will say the marbleizing effect on the ball was pretty, but this is an ergonomic nightmare.
