The Kingston V300 SSD includes the SSD 3.5" brackets, cables, 2mm spacer (which is helpful if you use the included enclosure) and a external USB 2.0 enclosure. The enclosure was great for transferring all my old data to the new drive.
I purchased this SSD to replace the stock 5400 RPM hard drive in a Apple Macbook Pro 2009 with the NVIDIA SATA II (3GB/s) chipset. On the Kingston website the V300 SSD is listed backward compatibility with SATA II. But when I installed the SSD, the drive was limited to SATA I or 1.5 GB/s, which is slow. This is an issue with Macbook's and Macbook Pro's with a NVIDIA chipsets and not the Kingston drive. But Apple owner's beware.
The drive is cool and low-powered. After several hours of heavy use. The cooling fan did not turn on once.

Hardware was great and the kit provided a number of things beyond a bare bones drive. The Acronis software did not work for me, but support suggested the Macrium Reflect trial software which did clone the existing drive. Probably just me, but there was much more to resolve the setup issues than provided with the installation information. The final result was a windows 7.9 performance figure for the drive. I expect the install would be easier on a laptop. My experience suggests if the cloned drive is to remain in the system it needs to be initialized.

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal SSD:

For any one wanting to build a better computer. Lightning fast start up. Good for gaming, lacks large long term storage. Definitely the next step for an updated system. Price is good for the size. Super easy to mount and install.

Get an SSD

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal SSD:

Wow was my first reaction when I first used an SSD and this is was apparently the first. I had no idea what five to seven times faster that 5400-7200rpm drives meant but this is a speed demon.

If you feel that your computer is slow or are even curious/considering an SSD, you should definitely get it. There is no better time than now to upgrade especially since prices have been decreasing drastically.

120GB may not be sufficient if you store all your items on one drive and with laptops, that it why others have resorted to external hard drives but if you're a desktop user then this can be the primary while the HDD can hold other media.

Very Quick!

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal SSD:

Loads Win 7 Pro in a "flash" Seems like other programs are faster also. Main reason for purchase is no moving parts and my laptop is always bouncing around in the truck going from job to job. Virtually noiseless, too.
