The Kingston V300 SSD includes the SSD 3.5" brackets, cables, 2mm spacer (which is helpful if you use the included enclosure) and a external USB 2.0 enclosure. The enclosure was great for transferring all my old data to the new drive.
I purchased this SSD to replace the stock 5400 RPM hard drive in a Apple Macbook Pro 2009 with the NVIDIA SATA II (3GB/s) chipset. On the Kingston website the V300 SSD is listed backward compatibility with SATA II. But when I installed the SSD, the drive was limited to SATA I or 1.5 GB/s, which is slow. This is an issue with Macbook's and Macbook Pro's with a NVIDIA chipsets and not the Kingston drive. But Apple owner's beware.
The drive is cool and low-powered. After several hours of heavy use. The cooling fan did not turn on once.

Hardware was great and the kit provided a number of things beyond a bare bones drive. The Acronis software did not work for me, but support suggested the Macrium Reflect trial software which did clone the existing drive. Probably just me, but there was much more to resolve the setup issues than provided with the installation information. The final result was a windows 7.9 performance figure for the drive. I expect the install would be easier on a laptop. My experience suggests if the cloned drive is to remain in the system it needs to be initialized.

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal SSD:

Great value especially with some Staples coupons. I purchased one for my desktop and then a 2nd for my laptop. Works for 32bit Vista and 64 bit system 7. I had a problem with trying to install in my laptop but after a few e-mails with Kingston support I was sucessful. It sure is fast. Boot up and shut down are 50% faster than without ssd. No moving parts. I feel it is less likely to be damaged with laptop handling. The clone software and instructional DVD are helpful. I had to use the manual copy for my laptop (AMD dual core with 32Bit Vista) but I now have an image backup with all the OS and updates. THANKS!

            • A:

The previous answer can't be right. This isn't an SD card. It should plug into a SATA data cable (and a power cable) as if it was one of your hard disk drives. If you only have a 4-pin Molex power connector you can get a converter for the SATA connector. SATA data cables are also small flat (usually red) cables with a black molded end and "L-shaped" key to prevent connecting it wrong.
