The drive appears to be working well. This is my first SSD so I can't really compare the speed to other similar items. It is definitely faster than my mechanical drives though and installation was relatively painless. The ONLY problem I have is not related to the product but to the DELIVERY of the item. I knew I had received this drive because I "heard" it land on my front porch from my living room (about 20 feet away and behind closed doors). That may be acceptable if having a paper product delivered but not a SSD.

Installed on computer, loaded Windows 7. Noticed huge performace. If anyone is wanting to get a new harddrive even to just put on the OS, would recomend it.. Without a doubt. Would do it again any day.

Just bought a refurbished off lease Dell Optiplex 760 (Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz) that came with a Velociraptor drive. Before booting up w/the Velociraptor I installed the SSD and installed Windows 7 fresh. The install completed in less than 15 minutes from initial boot to ready for login. System now boots from power up to login ready in less than 15 seconds. After logging in system is ready for use after an additional 25 seconds. Applications load very fast, including Nero. Don't know how I got along without this.

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V200 128GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) w/ Upgrade Kit:

I've used all sorts of Kingston memory devices in the past and was excited to see a good deal, no, a great deal from Staples on this one. The device is well packaged and the 'upgrade' version of this comes with an external case you install the drive in temporarily while you image your old drive with the included software, then pull it from the enclosure and put it in place of your hard drive. The procedure is well documented and easy to follow.

Unfortunatelly, when I got through the end of the procedure, the Kingston SSD wasn't bootable. Something went wrong in the transfer process and I had to try it again. It failed the second time also. I ended up using the drive as a backup drive for now and I'll try the install again later using different imaging software. The drive seems fine and I expect good life and performance. The software? Not so much. Fortunuately there are all sorts of free options for software to handle the migration.

Comments about Kingston SSDNow V200 128GB 2.5" SATA III (6 Gb/s) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) w/ Upgrade Kit:

I previously used a Hdd western Digital 500gb with 64mb of cache. It had read writes of around 100mb.

This SDD gets 250mb read and 250mb write. That's under and over its stated specs, which is ok. For its on sale price of under seventy dollars I think its a good deal given the increased performance over the Hdd.

The included brackets allowed a Desktop install. There's videos on Kingston's web site and you tube showing how to install this drive.

The included cloning software was fairly easy to use.

The install wasn't exactly plug and play on my motherboard. The board had trouble recognizing the drive (it did not show up in the boot menu)and wouldn't boot to it after the cloning process using my previous setup or the default bios settings. I spent some time through trial and error enabling things I had never heard of until it eventually booted.

Now that its running I can say this SDD Loads Battlefield 3 multiplayer levels in 1/3 of the time. Video conversions are about 1/4 faster / almost not noticeable. Win 8 boot time is surprisingly quick..I'd say 3/4 faster start ups. Shutdowns are a little faster. I have a couple programs that previously hung on shut down, which now close instantly.

This prompted me to run tests on my previous Hdd, it is 100% error free.

All around good jump to SSD.

According to some people who purchased this, it helped speed up their laptops, so it is at least somewhat laptop-compatible. However, I don't know what kind of laptop you have, so I can't answer whether or not it would work in your particular computer.
