          Comments about Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3 (204-Pin SO-DIMM) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Universal Laptop Memory:

We have a 2 year-old budget-priced ASUS laptop that came with Windows 7 64-bit and 3GB of RAM memory. There was a 2GB memory module plus a 1GB module (kind of stingy but we knew that when we bought it). Since the 64-bit version of Windows can make use of more than 3GB of memory we decided to look for a good deal on some extra memory. Now, if this laptop was a real high performance model, we would have looked for a matched pair of RAM modules such as a 2 x 4GB kit. However, this laptop has a basic Pentium 2.0GHz dual-core processor which does a nice job on basic stuff like internet, email, Microsoft Office, YouTube videos, and lightweight games, yet it's not nearly as powerful as a Core i3 or Core i5 processor. Anyway, when we saw that Staples had a 4GB module of good quality Kingston ValuRAM for only $17.99 we knew we had found a bargain. We bought it and installed it in place of the 1GB module. This gave us a total of 6GB of RAM. Ran a free memory tester program (Memtest86) and it found no memory errors so all is well. We've purchased and used a variety of Kingston memory over the last 10 years. Only one module ever had a problem and Kingston quickly replaced it for us with no hassles.

Our Windows 7 laptop came with 3GB of RAM memory. While that's enough to run Windows 7 plus use a big chunk of the RAM for the onboard graphics chip, that doesn't leave much for running a demanding task like video editing. So, we replaced a 1GB RAM module with this Kingston 4GB module. Voila! We now have 6GB of memory which is plenty for our needs.

Worked great in my late 2009 Mac Mini. Little long on the shipping.
