I tried making my own CD's as a giveaway for our 20th year in business. About 10 of the 50 did not finish recording, so basically trashed. I didn't NEED to have imprintable CD's, but thought they were the best bargain...not so if you count the wasted ones

If you are buying these for photos... I assume they will work, but who knows really. Don't buy them for music. I did..sent out my bands demo to several radio stations...and guess what wouldn't play in there CD players. Yup. If you need a nice set of coasters...your all set. You can even print them any color to match your mugs!

No, please see item number 701167 for LightScribe DVD's. If you need a LightScribe drive as well, the item number for the drive is 913633.

These Kodak CD-Rs are specially coated to work with an ink-jet printer, the Lightscribe feature uses specially coated CD-Rs like the Memorex 20/Pack Cool Colors LightScribe 700MB Spindle.

              • Q:

These are listed as "ink jet printable". Is there a label I put in my printer, or do I need a printer that will print directly onto the white surface of the disc?

                  A:

These CD's have blank tops that are great for use in a PC with light scribe functions. Or you can simply use printable labels like item #501798 Staples CD/DVD Labels, 50/Pack.

I don't think the first answer is correct. At the special price, you could economically use a stick-on label - but they are made for direct printing in capable printers (Epson makes them, HP does or did). I doubt they are properly coated to work in Lightscribe burners.
