This 5430 is my second Minolta laser printer. It was a refurbished machine, that some magic must have went into as it prints 30-40 color sheets a minute.Toner life was a concern until I found I could buy a replacement chip for [$] and get much more use out of toner cartridges that were reading empty.It use to be that I would wear out a ink jet printer in 7 or 8 months, this machine is a work horse!

These cartridges last a long time. Don't be fooled into replacing them when the printer tells you a cartridge is low. That warning comes on when you still have about 15% of the toner left. The printer will stop completely when you actually run out of ink in a cartridge, which is a surprisingly long time after the warning comes on. Buy an extra cartridge when the warning comes on, but don't put it in until the old cartridge is actually empty.
