This is listed as a consumable part, but you don't have to replace it when it gets full. When the printer stops due to a full waste-toner bottle, just follow these steps:

1.) Turn blue knob on bottle 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and remove bottle from printer. This closes the bottle.

2.) Turn blue knob on bottle 1/4 turn clockwise, back to the open position.

3.) Get an empty garbage bag and put it into a can or box or something to hold it open and upright.

4.) The opening on the waste toner bottle is just opposite the blue knob. Hold the bottle down in the garbage bag and dump the old toner into the bag until no more comes out. Because of the position of the bottle opening, you'll have to tilt the bottle up and down several times until no more toner comes out. THIS STEP CAN MAKE A MESS IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL! (New thought - perhaps a vacuum cleaner could be used to get out the toner...I need to try that myself!)

5.) Wipe the spilled toner off your hands, the bottle, and anywhere else it might have gotten to. Carefully dispose of the garbage bag, as it will tend to waft toner around the room if you continue to use it.

6.) Replace the bottle in the printer.
