          After 4 years the original Dell battery in my Vostro 1500 refused to keeep a charge. The Lenmar battery from Staples was over $30 less expensive than the Dell version, for the same power rating. I plugged it in and the computer booted up immediately from the factory charge. I charged the new battery overnight and hav been using it normally ever since. This was a great deal. I give it 4 stars only because it hasn't been in service long enough to determine longevity.

                This replacement battery for dell inspiron 1520 laptop was about $30 cheaper than dell replacement battery, HOWEVER, it sticks out off th eback of the laptop about 2 inches, making the laptop even more bulky and awkward.

                    I apologize for this Lenmar replacement battery states it’s for a Dell Inspiron 1520, a Inspiron 1720 and a Vostro 1700 (LBD0513). Unfortunately your requesting Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop is not listed in this compatible group. I apologize for I did not find on Staples your compatible battery, upon searching the manufactures site, Dell details that your battery is a Li-ion, rechargeable, no memory effect Dell Inspiron 1764 battery.
                    With the following specifications:
                    Chemistry: Li-Ion
                    Capacity: 5200mAh
                    Volts: 11.1V
                    Color: Black
