I research and try to lookup as muh as I can on everything before I buy it. I knew I wanted a second generation amd processor, a great keyboard, and an LED screen. This laptop hit all those marks in store. I bought this laptop without looking at the display for more than 5-10 minutes, it was a good choice. Setup was quick and easy.

1.the laptop ran skyrim at low settings at the native resolution pretty well.
2.The screen is good
3.the keyboard is comfortable
4.the battery life is better than average,
5.the plastic cover looks beter than the one on my toshiba satelite
6.it doesn't get nearly as hot as my sony vaio e series
7.the graphics are amazing
8.the cpu is fast
9.light
10.multitouch touchpad.

Casing Problem

The computer worked fine but there is a problem with the hinges, they made a quicki sound when you open it as it might be loss or broken.

        I researched this pc during 2012 Black Friday sales. I wanted a thin light and powerful laptop for business personal and travel. Great specs on this little machine. Unit was on sale during Black Friday but actually went down in price week of 12/2. Setup was super easy. Windows 8 is different and takes a little getting used to. But I watched a 12 min YouTube video tutorial on Windows 8 prior to purchasing. Unit is fast and super thin. I use laptop for videos and music and compared sound to HP units with Beats audio and am very pleased with sound quality. Overall I am very impressed. Staples Solana Beach, CA retail staff offered impeccable customer service.

        I purchased this product primarily because I was in need of a light-weight notebook to carry to work on a daily basis. I have had this for a week now and just love it!

        The only drawback that I find is the way the navigation is built on a Lenovo machine. I have owned Toshiba, HP and Dell laptops before and this is my first Lenovo. The start up menu appears different and the Lenovo links your start-up with a Google or MSN account. I tried to bypass the step and create a generic log-on page to get to the desktop. It seemed to me that this was not an option. Each time I start up the computer, I need to log in using my Google account. This makes it difficult for other persons to access my PC even when I let them. Some people may argue that this allows better personalization of each person's desktop and provides added privacy/security, but it could also be a pain at times. The desktop appearance is also not a conventional one as you would see on those other Windows based PCs. You would not have the ease of navigating through the various programs and folders available on your system. However, with time I think this is not a major issue and anybody could get used to these features.

        Barring these shortcomings, I think this is a great machine and serves my purpose.

        Windows 8 really tries hard but you need a touch screen to work it easily. The "intelligent" mousepad is really quite dumb. It scrolls down for no apparent reason. The battery lasts for about 2 hours, I thought I read it was supposed to be 5 but I may have remembered it wrong. 2 hours is not efficient enough to sacrfice the dvd/cd player. It does *start* quickly from *sleep*.
