Got the printer/scanner free with a computer, so it works good enough in that regard. Cartridges are about the same price as HP's -- expensive for what you get. Have had trouble with those drying up from infrequent use; haven't had this one long enough to know if it has the same issue. Colors and print quality are good, though haven't tried pictures.

Lexmark printers and ink are very high in quality and performance. They work flawlessly and dependably. Like many other ink jet printers, however, it is more costly to replace the cartridges than it should be. Cartridge life is only average. The combined black/color cartridge package should offer a better price than it does.

I don't understand why replacement ink is so expensive. After you buy 3 replacement cartridges,you have surpassed the price paid for the printer. This is typical of all printers, not just Lexmark.
