I own 3 different printers so that I do not consume a lot of ink from either one. I think that the consumer is taken advantage of when purchaing these cartridges. They seldom deliver the promised amount of copies, are grossly over priced and you never really know how much ink a printer uses until you purchase the printer because the manufacturer does not tell the truth. I have an HP injet, hp laser and a lexmark and they all lie!! It is not fair that the consumer is constantly being taken advantaged of. You know we need the product in order to get our job done and so we are constantly being exploited. I tell you, I am not a happy camper when it comes to purchasing ink. Lexmark is probably the worst of all as sometimes their cartridges start out empty. I have just taken the loss because I feel as though the store may think I am being deceitful.

While all printer ink is expensive, Lexmark ink is ridiculous. Their proprietary system takes most of the control out of the users hands. The sensors in the printer tell you when the ink is low -and you have no way of knowing if that's accurate or not. You have to just trust that the sensors are gauging the ink levels correctly. You have no choice anyway, when the "system" or sensors or whatever decide, it simply stops producing color prints of any kind. It does, however, graciously offer you the option of continuing your print job in black and white. The replacement ink cartridges are way over priced.

  The Lexmark x4650 requires cartridge #36 for black ink and #37 for colored ink. A twin pack is offered to supply all of your ink cartridge needs.
