Ok so this ink doesn't last as long as you would hope, and the price isn't so cheap to replace. However, I do advise not to purchase the 44XL ink. I bought it in hopes that would last longer, but infact lasted just as the same as this 42 ink. But i print mostly powerpoints and essays (word documents) and it does produce more than 220 pages for me. So if no other option, i would choose this over the 44xl ink.

I am so furious right now that all I can say is WHAT A RIP OFF!!! I had to go all over town to find the cartridge in the first place, it was VERY expensive and then it lasted only 7 days for my everyday personal use. I don't print that much and only regular WORD documents mostly...no graphics or photos. Something needs to be done about this! There was NO WHERE NEAR 200 pages worth of ink in that cartridge! I have enjoyed Lexmark products for many years and now I feel that I'm being ripped off!

I have a small property managemen company. I purchased your fax copier to replace a Brother. I wish I hadn't . Your short term ink cartridge is breaking me. I am thinking about returning it and going to a Brother again.

I use this cartridge every day. The supply of ink is unbelieveably low. I have to change ink every 4 - 5 days. Then you cannot find the cartridge any where. I have recently found out (on my own) that this cartridge has been replaced by #44 black, which is more expensive. However, it has lasted 5 days longer. It is low on ink as of day the eleventh day. Why did the reps in ANY store not have this knowledge. very annoying.

I use this printer for personal business and am extremely upset about the unavailablity of the cartridges, the cost and the extremely short lfe of the cartridges. I hesitate to even donate it to a charity when I replace it because of these issues. I will never buy another Lexmark product again.
